The dog run or Dog Play Area (DPA) as Rec and Park now calls it, occupies the extreme northeast end of the Park. It is one of the oldest and largest dog runs in the city. One can enter from 8th Avenue or West Pacific. In addition to many dogwalkers, a large contingent of neighborhood dog owners use the area every day. It also functions as a “town square” for the neighborhood. A combination of grass and woodchips provides ample room to run and play. There are plenty of benches for human visitors. Water and dog waste bags are provided. If you want to meet your neighbors, bring a dog to the Mt. Lake Park DPA.
Volunteers have put in a lot of labor in the past few months to spread wood chips on the dog run and the path leading to West Pacific Avenue.
