A few years back, RPD Park Supervisor Chuck McMackin (now retired) shared a photo of the Mt. Lake Park card shack, circa 1958, with us. In these dog days of summer, which means down jackets and mittens in our neighborhood, it seems like a good time to post it here for everyone to see.
Given the ongoing battles we have with the homeless, and taggers and other assorted vandals using the card shack, it’s strangely comforting to know we at least have all the tables! Just imagine the stories this old card shack could tell…
